In the South American jungle a young boy meets and is coached by a mysterious, ghostly footballer. In time, he becomes a famous professional goalkeeper known as ‘El Gato’ – ‘The Cat’ – and wins the World Cup. ‘Keeper’ takes the form of a narrative as ‘El Gato’ relates these experiences to a sports journalist.
