Welcome to the Yellow-Lighted Bookshop’s online shop. Thanks for dropping by. We’ve been online for six weeks now and are beginning to get the hang of it.

At the moment the online shop is the only part of the business that’s up and running. We’re hoping to get the our ‘real’ shops in Tetbury and Nailsworth open, in some shape or form, before the end of July. In the meantime please buy your books here. It’s not quite like visiting the shops, but you’ll get the idea!

You can collect books that have been ordered and paid for from the doors of our shops. In Tetbury this facility is currently available weekdays, 12 – 2.30pm. In Nailsworth, this is currently possible on Wednesdays and Fridays 9.00 – 11.00am. These times may change from 1st June – check with us. Orders MUST be paid for beforehand online and the collection time agreed with us by email – enter your address and choose ‘click and collect’ at the checkout.

The blog pages to the right (under ‘recent posts’) feature what’s on our tables right now.

Stock:
The stock listed in the online shop is what our computerised stock system thinks we have in stock. It’s not wholly accurate, but gives you a fair idea of what’s on the shelves today.

Book ordering:

Due to current circumstances delivery of books may take longer than you might expect. We post books first class, but they can still take several days. Where we can, we deliver locally ourselves. We will get your orders to you as soon as possible. As always we can get hold of pretty much anything – if you’re patient enough. Most publishers are still sending books out – but special orders can take up to three weeks. Please bear with us.

If you cannot find the book you are looking for you can;

  1. You can fill out the form in the shop drop down menu called CONTACT US – BOOK ORDERS.
  2. Or email us at ylbtetbury@me.com.

Payments:
We currently take payment via PayPal. Customers ought to be able to pay by card without a PayPal account, and/or enter a different shipping address. Nine times out of ten, they can. But every now and then, it doesn’t work.

We don’t know why. PayPal don’t know why. We’re looking at different options, but please bear with us. Email your order direct to us at ylbtetbury@me.com if it’s easier.

We appreciate all of your support and can’t wait to see you all soon!

Our whole team – Helen, Louise, Sarah, Kim, Alex, Emilia, Gabriel, Alf, and the occasional helper out (Hereward), look forward to welcoming everyone back to the shops as soon as possible.   1. Excellent news! I love your friendly, independent book shop. You always have an interesting selection of books and I find so many books just by browsing there. I hope you will be able to do some mini-reviews on your online site to encourage us to read books we weren’t originally planning to purchase.

    1. Thanks for the comment. We’re working on making it a bit easier for customers to ask about things that we don’t actually have on the shelves. You should be able to find the ‘Shop – click here for books tab’ – and there’s an email form on the drop down menu. Or just email us at ylbtetbury@me.com.

      And we should be able to get that by the middle of the week!

    1. Morning! Yes, we have Hamnet in the shop, and can post/deliver tomorrow. Just search for the book in the search field, add it to the cart and then head to the checkout. Get in touch if you have any problems. Thank you!
