Welcome to the Yellow-Lighted Bookshop’s online shop. Thank you for dropping by.

Pretty much all the books that are in our shop in Tetbury and Nailsworth are available here in our online shop. We send books all over the UK (and the world), usually within 24 hours of you placing an order. Use the drop down menus on the blue horizontal bar to explore the shop. We especially recommend looking at our tables – you can click on the titles you are interested in and buy straight from there.

Like the shops, we also sell selections of cards, Christmas cards, advent calendars and calendars, and we’re developing our Christmas pages throughout October.

You can order and collect your books from either of the bookshops, from Slad’s Woolpack Inn, or from the Village Shop in Chalford, but don’t forget to let us know where you would like to collect your books from when placing your order. Or we can post/courier books anywher in the world.

If you cannot find the book you are looking for;

  1. You can fill out the form in the shop drop down menu called CONTACT US – BOOK ORDERS.
  2. Or email us at ylbtetbury@me.com.

Payments:
We currently take online payment via PayPal or bank transfer. You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay us – you can just enter your card details.

Buying your books from us online is a great way to shop locally, easily and safely. Thank you.

      1. Actually, that’s a great question. Watch this space.

Your order should be dispatched on Monday, btw.

  1. Excellent news! I love your friendly, independent book shop. You always have an interesting selection of books and I find so many books just by browsing there. I hope you will be able to do some mini-reviews on your online site to encourage us to read books we weren’t originally planning to purchase.

  2. Far better to buy from you (in these circumstances) than further enriching Jeff Bezos. I’m thinking about ‘Dark, Salt, Clear’

  3. Well done, keep up the good work. The yellow light is a beacon of hope in this weird time and frankly you can never have too many books 🙂

    1. Thanks for the comment. We’re working on making it a bit easier for customers to ask about things that we don’t actually have on the shelves. You should be able to find the ‘Shop – click here for books tab’ – and there’s an email form on the drop down menu. Or just email us at ylbtetbury@me.com.

And we should be able to get that by the middle of the week!

  4. So happy you are now online as I would much prefer to buy books from you!
Can you get a copy on Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell ?

    1. Morning! Yes, we have Hamnet in the shop, and can post/deliver tomorrow. Just search for the book in the search field, add it to the cart and then head to the checkout. Get in touch if you have any problems. Thank you!

    1. Hello Beth,

Please could you email your order to us (online@ylbooks.co.uk )? Unfortunately, we are not set up to use the old tokens on our website at this time – this is something I will be looking into soon.

      Thanks,
      Kim

    1. Hello Georgia,

DNRO means Do Not Reduce Order – Sorry this tag is still on some of our stock, I’m slowly working my way through and changing details as I go.

      Thanks and best wishes,
      Kim

    1. Hello Rachel,

I have put a post up about our new opening hours and some of the safety precautions we are taking. We look forward to seeing you soon.

      Best wises,
      Kim

  5. Really friendly welcome this afternoon and so good to actually go Into a bookshop and browse! Wished I could have spent longer but really appreciate all the hard work that goes into being open.
