Newly arrived on the island of Crete, Jack Tanner soon finds trouble brewing. Not only does his new subaltern seem determined to make life difficult, but he has also offended a local warlord who has sworn to kill him. Suddenly, and without warning, the Germans hit the island and the British forces are flung into disarray.
