Books for Schools

There is evidence that access to books improved children’s mental health during previous lockdowns – and, actually, for families overall. Over the last few days we’ve noticed a number of authors and publishers on social media promoting the idea of getting books (mainly theirs, and nothing wrong with that), into schools, and sometimes directly to children at home.

We think that’s a good idea, and schools have used our wishlists to do something similar in the past.

However, we wanted to work with teaching staff, in both schools and nursery settings, to get the most appropriate books into the hands of the children who need them most. If you would like to help us do this, you can donate here:

We will be contacting local schools directly and will be led by them how best to support those children who might need this most.
